Transgender Day of Remembrance

Every year in November, the Trans Pride team hosts the somber and powerful Transgender Day of Remembrance event. It’s our chance to come together as a community to honor and remember those we’ve lost throughout the year to violence or suicide. The event features powerful speakers, community resources, an ofrenda, and a candlelight vigil. The event is offered completely free to the community and we provide a food and drinks for our attendees.

This event is made possible by the generous donation of the venue and volunteer hours by the Ventura College Pride Pirates, VC’s gender and sexuality alliance (GSA). This is the second year of our partnership with the Pride Pirates.

Other important contributors to this event are Coalition for Family Harmony, Diversity Collective Ventura County, and The Transverse.
