We have a great group of folks and we talk about anything and everything\, from trans issues to grooming tips\, from home improvement to trains\, we get together\, talk\, hang out\, and just simply enjoy being in a completely safe space where all identities are welcome and we can truly be ourselves. \nAre you a little shy and want to bring a cis friend or significant other? As long as they’re with you and they are respectful\, all are welcome. \nWanna try out a new name\, or pronouns? Need to talk through some things regarding coming out? Need a place where you can finally dress up as YOU? SUMMARY:Transgender Day of Remembrance
DESCRIPTION:Every year in November\, the Trans Pride team hosts the somber and powerful Transgender Day of Remembrance event. It’s our chance to come together as a community to honor and remember those we’ve lost throughout the year to violence or suicide. The event features powerful speakers\, community resources\, an ofrenda\, and a candlelight vigil. The event is offered completely free to the community and we provide a food and drinks for our attendees. \nThis event is made possible by the generous donation of the venue and volunteer hours by the Ventura College Pride Pirates\, VC’s gender and sexuality alliance (GSA). This is the second year of our partnership with the Pride Pirates. \nOther important contributors to this event are Coalition for Family Harmony\, Diversity Collective Ventura County\, and The Transverse.

DESCRIPTION:I’m excited to get into the habit of hiking again. Let’s kick off 4/20 with some exercise before the real festivities get started. Feel free to hike and bake or bake and hike. This one will be pointedly chill. \nDifficulty: Moderate \nWhen: Meetup Saturday 4/20 at 9:00am  •  The group will leave at 9:15am. \nLength: 1 hours\, 1-1.5 miles round trip\nWhere to meet: Meet near the first restroom building. I have a red backpack and will try to gay it up\, so I’m easy to spot. Ooo\, I’ll wear my pink floral leggings too! -Emily \nDirections: There is street parking outside the park on Foothill\, some spaces across the street from the entrance to the park\, and paid parking inside ($2 per hour\, max $5).
